Shimla receives first snowfall of the year, Kufri, Narkanda closed

Shimla has received first snowfall of the year. The tourists have started flocking to the hill destination. The occupancy of the hotels is already 60-70 per cent.

The national highway is blocked at Kufri and Narkanda due to snowfall.

Other parts of the state, Manali, Kinnaur, Lahaul and Spiti, Dalhousie have also received fresh snowfall.

With – seven degrees Keylong is the coldest place in Himachal Pradesh.

More snow is expected in Shimla, Kullu, Kinnaur and Lahaul Spiti in the next 24 hours.

The state is expected to experience more snowfall and rain till January 9, a Met official has said. “Manali and the hills overlooking it have experienced moderate snow. There are chances of more snow till January 9,” the official said.
