After a brief halt on Saturday, the skies again opened up on Sunday, giving Shimla yet another spell of fresh snowfall. This is for the third straight time during the past one week that it has snowed in Shimla.
It started snowing yet again in higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh on Sunday with Kullu, Kinnaur, Shimla, Sirmaur, Chamba and Lahul & Spiti districts receiving moderate to high snowfall.
In Shimla, the fresh spell of snowfall again brought down the temperature by a few degrees. Kufri, Fagu, Narkanda and Kharapathar areas of Shimla again received fresh snow disrupting traffic movement to the upper areas of the district. The traffic movement in Shimla, however, continued to be normal.
Manali, Rohtang and Keylong also received fresh spell of snow throwing normal life out of gear. The temperature continues to remain near freezing point at many places in the snow affected areas. Higher reaches of Chamba, Kinnaur, Sirmaur also received high snowfall on Sunday.
According to Met officials, the Western Disturbance will recede from the region from Monday and the weather would remain mainly dry in the next few days.
