North Indian states are going to face a significant drop in temperature in the days to come. As per weather reports, there will be heavy snowfall in the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. Most of the northern states are likely to witness rain and snow till Wednesday. Heavy snowfall or rain will likely cover most parts of both hill states.
Himachal Pradesh has already witnessed a drop in temperature on Monday morning. According to the Met Office, there are chances of rain and snowfall in the state. As per the Met office report, due to western disturbance, a storm system originating from the Caspian Sea and moving across the Afghanistan-Pakistan region will be active in the region from Monday.
Most of the prominent tourist towns like Narkanda, Kufri, and Manali are likely to witness snowfall. Manali has already seen snowfall in this season.
In Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana, scattered rain is possible Monday onwards till Wednesday.
Delhi’s air quality will be unhealthy or at a hazardous level with very high particulate matter PM2.5 index throughout the region. Cold wave in Delhi will worsen.
