It is likely to rain in parts of Himachal Pradesh in the next week and could bring life to a standstill. The meteorological department has issued ‘yellow’ weather warning for the state of Himachal Pradesh after it predicted heavy rain in the hill state in the coming week. Yellow is the least dangerous of all the weather warnings. However, the people will still have to remain on some kind of alert.

The Shimla Met department has sent a yellow warning for heavy rain in plains, low and mid-hills of the state on July 24, as per the officials. As per the reports, the monsoon rains are predicted till July 26.

The Met office issues colour-coded warnings to alert the public ahead of severe or hazardous weather which has the potential to cause “damage, widespread disruption and/or danger to life.”

Last year, there was heavy devastation due to inclement weather during the monsoons in Himachal as several people lost their lives.

Recently, light to moderate rains occurred at many places in Himachal Pradesh on Saturday.
