The Hush Post: In a gory incident, a youth stabbed his girlfriend to death at a resort on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The police immediately arrested the youth within 24 hours of the commission of crime.
The incident occurred on Thursday and the 22-year-old accused was arrested on Friday. The incident took place under the jurisdiction of Shankarpally Police Station. The victim was a 21-year-old girl, The Hans India reported on Saturday.
The accused has been identified as Royyala Sai Prasad, of Timmapur village and the victim has been identified as P Shiresha, of Kummariguda village in Ranga Reddy district. The incident occurred at Pragathi resort, Shankerpally, the report said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Shamshabad, P V Padmaja said that the victim Shiresha and accused Sai were known to each other since 2011. Both were students of Sri Chaitanya Junior College. The accused was senior to the victim and they used to go together to the college as they lived in same locality, the report said.
“Over the years, their friendship grew and turned into a love relationship. But, Sai used to suspect her, if she spoke to anyone else. Meanwhile, Shiresha family came to know about the issue and warned Shiresha to end the relationship. Subsequently, she refused Sai’s marriage proposal,” DCP P V Padmaja was quoted as saying. As she refused his proposal, he bore a grudge against her, the police said.
The accused called the victim to meet him on the pretext of discussing some issues on Thursday. The accused asked the victim to meet him and online booked a room. “They went to the resort at around 1:30 pm. After about two hours at around 3:30 pm, the girl went to the washroom. The accused also followed her and entered into the washroom and mercilessly attacked the victim with the knife he brought with him,” the police reportedly said.
There were multiple injuries on the throat, chest, and hands of the deceased. “He attacked her with the clear intention to eliminate her,” T Swamy, Chevella ACP, told media persons.
Though the incident happened in the afternoon, the resort management, who found the victim lying in a pool of blood in the washroom, reportedly informed the police at around 7 pm, and the police reached the spot in 30 minutes. The police identified the victim on the basis of college identity card and informed her parents, who rushed to the spot immediately, the report said.
The report said that the deceased was taking coaching to crack a bank job at a private institute at Dilsukhnagar, and the accused searching for a job. The police registered a case under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sent the body to Chevella Government Hospital for post mortem. The police seized a knife and mobile phones of the accused and the victim, the report said.
There have also been allegations on the resort management that they were issuing the rooms without proper verification. “We have served notices to resort management and collected CCTV footage from the resort. If they found violating the rules, we would slap cases on them too,” the DCP was quoted as saying.
