A woman from Kerala has filed a case against former playback singer Anuradha Paudwal, claiming to be her daughter. 45-year-old Karmala Modex filed the case in the Family District Court of Thiruvananthapuram.
She demanded compensation of Rs 50 crore from Anuradha and her husband Arun Paudwal.
Karmala claims that Anuradha and Arun are her biological parents and they gave her to Ponnachan and Agnes when she was just four-days-old. She claims that they didn’t want to raise her because of their busy schedule.
According to an Indian Express report, Karmala also said that Ponnachan, her foster father, revealed that she is Anuradha’s daughter when he was on his death bed. According to the report, Karmala’s foster mother, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, isn’t aware of this claim.
Ponnachan and Agnes have three kids and they raised Karmala as their fourth child. The report also states that Karmala tried to contact Anuradha. However, she refused to take her call and even blocked her number.
Anuradha and Arun have a son named Aditya Paudwal and a daughter Kavita Paudwal. Anuradha is a Padma Shri recipient. She received the civilian award in 2017. Paudwal rose to eminence during the late 1980s and early 90s through songs in the film Aashiqui, Saajan and other films of the period.
