14 injured in grenade attack by suspected militants outside DC office in Anantnag

The suspected militants threw a grenade outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Saturday morning in Anantnag leaving 14 people injured, including a traffic policeman.

According to the reports, the target of the attackers was the DC office. The injured people were immediately rushed to district hospital Anantnag for their treatment. One amongst the 14 injured is in critical condition because of the splinter injuries in the chest.

The CRPF and the army police reportedly cordoned off the area soon after the attack. Also, a search operation has been initiated in order to find the suspected militants.

The media reports suggest that this is the second attack on the security forces in the valley since the abrogation of article 370 from the Indian Constitution.
