Army jawan killed in Pak firing in J&K’s Poonch sector

An army jawan was killed in the wee hours on Sunday morning. Pakistani troops had been firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in Shahpur and Kerni areas of Poonch since 5.30 pm on Saturday.
The soldier was critically injured around 4 am in the firing and was immediately evacuated to the military hospital. He succumbed to injuries in the hospital.
The Indian Army retaliated strongly. The casualties suffered by Pakistan were not known. Pakistani troops used mortar and small arms to target forward posts and villages.
On Thursday, 24-year-old rifleman Yash Paul lost his life in unprovoked firing by Pakistan Army along the LoC in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district.
The clampdown on the Pak-funded Kashmiri terrorists continues as many places linked to
separatists and pro-Pak elements were raided through last week.

Six terrorists were killed in three separate encounters in the last two days.
