It is reported that the grenade exploded accidentally while the army officer was giving demonstration to the soldiers

The Hush Post: Eight soldiers, including a Major, were grievously injured in a grenade blast in Jammu-Kashmir’s Handwara on Tuesday. The incident took place at Rajwar area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

According to reports, the blast took place when an army domination party of 21 Rashtriya Rifles, led by Major Surab Suman was passing through the woods of Nagranad area of Zatchaldara.

It is reported that the grenade exploded accidentally while the army officer was giving demonstration to the soldiers. The Major and seven other soldiers suffered serious injuries in the incident.

The injured were immediately rushed to military hospital Drugmulla. The Major and another soldier were referred to army’s 92 base hospital for specialized treatment.

An army official stated that the nature of blast is being ascertained.
