Indian Army carried out the attack in retaliation to Pakistan’s shelling in Poonch and Jhallas on October 23

The Hush Post: In yet another major offensive, the Indian Army today blew up one of the administrative offices of the Pakistani Army across the Line of Control (LoC) near Poonch. Indian Army carried out the attack in retaliation to Pakistan’s shelling in Poonch and Jhallas on October 23. The Pakistani Army has reportedly suffered heavy losses in the attack.

A Border Action Team (BAT) of the Pakistani Army had ambushed an Indian Army patrol team, killing three soldiers and injuring another, on October 21. The group of heavily armed Pakistani soldiers had intruded near the LoC in Sundarbani sector of Jammu & Kashmir’s Rajouri district. As per reports, Pakistani intruders carried out the attack 50 metres inside the Indian territory.  Indian forces had killed two of them in retaliatory fire.

Tensions between the two South-Asian neighbours had run high after the incident. Senior Army officials even discussed the matter over the hotline on October 23. But the same day, Pakistan Army hit Indian Army’s brigade headquarters in Poonch with 105/106 mm shells setting the store shelter on fire.

It is in retaliation to this shelling, that the Indian Army has targeted the Pakistani Army Head Quarters. Indian Army released the satellite images of the attack on Sunday.

It is to be noted that Pakistan has been continuously violating the ceasefire across the LoC.
