If Mehbooba is not summoned, “a day is not far off when the country i.e. India would be deprived of J&K and the entire nation would be jeopardize (sic) when the terrorist activities increase”, read the petition.
The Hush Post: A petition has been filed in a Ambala court against former Jammu & Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti for her recent remarks that a split ‘engineered’ in her People’s Democratic Party (PDP) would give birth to new terrorists in the state.
The petition was filed by Viresh Shandilya, national president of a little-known outfit- Anti-Terrorist Front India (ATFI), in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Pooja Singla through his counsel Sumit Sharma.
Citing newspaper reports, 44-yr-old Shandilya has accused Mehbooba Mufti of making anti-national statements and demanded that a sedition case be filed against her. “The utterance of accused are untolerable(sic)” and “cannot be tolerated by an ordinary Indian much less the government”, Shandilya said in his plea.
Shandilya claimed that since Mehbooba’s remarks ‘encouraged terrorists’, a case be filed against her under Sections 121, 124-A, and 153 of the Indian Penal Code. The plea further said that it Mehbooba is summoned under the aforesaid sections of the law, “a day is not far off when the country i.e. India would be deprived of J&K and the entire nation would be jeopardize (sic) when the terrorist activities increase”.
Judge Pooja Singla has posted the matter for hearing on July 17.
“Agar Dilli ne 1987 ki tarah yahan ki awam ke vote pe daaka dala, agar iss kism ki tod fod ki koshish ki,jis tarah ek Salahuddin ek Yasin Malik ne janm liya…agar Dilliwalon ne PDP ko todne ki koshish ki uski nataish bahut zyada khatarnaak hogi (If Delhi tries to plunder mandate of the Kashmiri people as it did in 1987, if it tries to engineer a split in the PDP, then like people like Salahuddin and Yasin Malik will be born again and the outcome will be very dangerous”, The Times of India had quoted Mehbooba Mufti as saying.
