The Hush Post: The bullet-ridden body of an army jawan Aurangzeb who had been abducted by terrorists on Thursday was found late night. After his abduction by the terrorists, the police and security forces had launched a manhunt to trace him.
Aurangzeb was posted in the terrorist stronghold of Shopian in south Kashmir, was abducted by militants on Thursday, police said it was reported.
Aurangzeb, a Rajouri resident, was picked up from Kalampora area in Pulwama, was proceeding on leave for Eid, as per the officials.
He belongs to 4 Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry and is at present posted with the 44 Rashtriya Rifles camp at Shadimarg in Shopian, according to them.
At about 9 am on Thursday, army men from the unit stopped a car asking the driver to drop Aurangzeb in Shopian, officials said, recounting what had happened.
Aurangzeb, aged 22 – a resident of Poonch district – was reportedly proceeding toward his home on leave for Eid in a shared cab when a group of armed militants abducted him near Kalampora in Shopian.
Militants stopped the vehicle as it approached Kalampora and abducted the jawan. Police are investigating the case. It was reported that the Army is also conducting an inquiry into the incident, they said.
Aurangzeb was part of the commando unit which gunned down Hizbul Mujahideen commander Sameer Ahmed Bhat, alias Sameer Tiger, in April this year.
Aurangzeb’s father is a retired Army personnel, while one of his five brothers is in the security forces.
