The Hush Post: District and Sessions Judge, Pathankot, Dr Tejwinder Singh, who has the credit of being the youngest civil judge at 23, will begin hearing the Kathua rape case from July 9 onwards. The Kathua rape case has been transferred from Jammu to Pathankot in Punjab by the Supreme Court.
District and Sessions Judge, Pathankot, Tejwinder Singh’s name appears in the Limca Book of World Records for being the youngest civil judge at 23. He has done his Ph D from Punjab University having done his research work in laws on ‘Legislative measures to control terrorism in India’ with special reference to Punjab.
All the documents and records related to the Kathua rape case, in which a 9-year-old girl was brutally raped and raised an alarm in the country, are in Urdu which will have to be translated, therefore the SC has kept the date of beginning of trial in July. The trial will be conducted on a day to day basis behind closed doors under the supervision of the Supreme court, which has ruled out a CBI inquiry for now.
As per the directions of the Supreme Court, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has said that sufficient security will be provide to the victim’s family, lawyers and others directly concerned with the case.
