Three CRPF personnel rape woman in Jammu, suspended

The Hush Post: Three CRPF personnel have been suspended following allegations by a 24-year-old woman that she was confined and then raped by one of them inside a camp in Jammu on Sunday.
An FIR has been registered.

The victim also alleged that the culprits filmed the assault and threatened to make the video viral on social media should she disclose the incident to anyone. The woman from the Poonch district had registered a written complaint at Domana police station.

“I had alighted from a bus at about 7.30pm and was on my way to a relative’s home. I lost my way and was intercepted by three personnel in uniform outside their camp half-an-hour later. They took me inside on the pretext of helping me but then one of them raped me,” the woman alleged.

A case including charges of rape and confinement has been registered against unidentified people and investigation has been started.
After the investigation, more charges would be pressed like introducing sections from the Information Technology Act.

CRPF spokesperson Ashish Kumar Jha said three accused CRPF personnel have been put under suspension.
A video of the episode was circulated on social media after which the woman lodged the complaint alleging outraging of her modesty by CRPF personnel.
