National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval is camping in Jammu & Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370. After taking a stock of the situation in Shopian, the NSA today visited Anantnag. He went among the locals including a shepherd who had come to sell goats for Bakrid. Doval shared some moments with the shepherd and then the locals.

NSA Ajit Doval is visiting the terrorist prone areas in Jammu & Kashmir. Like Shopian, Anantnag too is considered to be a hotbed of militancy. With visiting these areas, the NSA is trying to send a message that things are coming back to normal in the valley.
The administration relaxe prohibitory orders on Friday and locals came out of their houses to offer prayers at the mosques. Meanwhile, former chief ministers- Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti continue to be under house arrest.
Ajit Doval visited Shopian on Thursday which is a hotbed of militancy and was ground zero during Burhan Wani agitation. Here he interacted with the locals and briefed them about the steps to bring in normalcy in JammuAndKashmir.
Before the Union government initiated the process to scrap the controversial Articles, Ajit Doval had paid a visit to Srinagar and had upon returning had updated the Cabinet Committee on Security Affairs (CCSA).
Following the CCSA meet the Prime Minister Narendra Modi cabinet had given its go ahead to revoke Article 370 and 35-A. Now Ajit Doval had again left for the valley after the resolution to abrogate Article 370 was put forward in the Rajya Sabha on Monday, August 5.
