The Hush Post: In a bizarre incident, a youth from Jharkhand beheaded a female teacher and then ran with her severed head for five kilometres. The 26-year-old youth, who is stated to be mentally-challenged, was arrested later.
The youth, Hari Hembram, used to live near Khaprasai Primary School alone where the victim female teacher used to work. More shockingly, after beheading the 30-year-old female teacher, accused ran with her severed head for over five kilometres, a report said.
The incident occurred on Tuesday when students of the public school were being served their mid-day meals, NDTV reported.
Avisnash Kumar, Seraikela’s Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) confirmed the incident and said that the accused forcibly entered the school campus, dragged victim Sukra Hesa towards his house without warning and beheaded her with a sword, the report said.
The police officials, when reached the crime scene, found that the youth was carrying two swords and was surrounded by angry local residents. He was also carrying the woman’s severed head which further complicated the confrontation, it was reported.
As he carried sharp-edged weapons, no one in the crowd dared to go near the accused. A cop even said they had to drop their plan to shoot the accused as a big number of local residents were present there, the report said.
Hari Hembram then started running towards a jungle with locals and the police at his heels. The mob even hurled stones at him but undeterred by it, he ran for about five kilometres before he could be subdued by the police near Hesel village. In this pursuit, four police officials were injured while trying to protect the accused from the irate mob which was baying for blood, it was reported.
After the mentally-challenged youth was found hiding behind a bush and was rescued from the locals who thrashed him, cops then took him to the Sadar Hospital. The accused has now been shifted to the MGM Hospital in Jamshedpur, the report said.
