Jharkhand Urban development minister CP Singh reportedly forced Congress MLA Imran Ansari to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in front of media on Friday.
A video shows that both the MLA’s outside the Jharkhand assembly were getting into a heated argument over the chanting of religious argument.
CP Singh reportedly held Imran Ansari’s hand and said, “I want Imran bhai to chant aloud ‘Jai Shri Ram’.” After that, CP Singh tells Ansari that his ancestors were “Ram wale”, not “Babur wale”.
Ansari in reaction said, “Aap dara nahi sakte mujhe (You cannot threaten me).”
On Wednesday also, the Jharkhand assembly of the ongoing monsoon session witnessed quarrel over sloganeering of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Jai Shri Ram’.
The BJP legislator from Bokaro, Viranchi Narayan raised the slogan of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ which was soon followed by CP Singh and Raj Paliwar, the minister of labour employment and training. The lawmaker continued to chant the slogans while the JMM MLAs demanded government’s stand on proposed amendments to the Indian Forests Act, 1927. The house was adjourned twice due to this.
