The Division has reported that new coaches of premium trains like Rajdhani Express and Sampark Kranti Express have gone missing from the yard. The authorities are claiming that they do not know where the Delhi-Ranchi train coaches could have gone, reportedly.

Consequently, the Ranchi Division has written to the Northern Railways and complained about the missing bogies. Ranchi Division has stated that five new coaches which had been sent to Delhi with the Rajdhani Express have gone missing between April 18 and May 30.

While the officials have refrained from speaking on the record, a few of them, on the condition of anonymity, said that it is the system which is to be put to blame. The new bogies which are been sent to Delhi are being ‘cut’ or removed by the Delhi Division and being replaced by the old ones. The old coaches, however, are becoming a headache as the passengers are complaining about the poor quality of the coaches. The coaches are cut in emergency situations, they said.

Recently, Rajdhani Express from Ranchi was delayed because three coaches broke down leading to a ruckus by the passengers. The ACs had stopped working on the coaches. Similarly, the passengers had created a furore when the Sampark Kranti Express was made to depart without repairing the AC last week.
