A journalist who had attended the press conference of former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kaman Nath has been tested positive for COVID-19. The journalist from Bhopal is among the six new COVID-19 patients reported in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday.
The journalist is the father of the 26-year old woman, who earlier tested positive for coronavirus. He had attended Nath’s media conference on March 20 in Bhopal.
The news has triggered panic among the media fraternity. Also what is worrying is that the journalists who came in direct or indirect contact of the man had gone on to cover the conference of chief minister Shivraj Chouhan.
Shivraj Chouhan has been advised by doctors to be on alert and take precautions while Nath is already taking precautions.
The doctors have advised the journalists who came in contact with the man to remain in home isolation for 14 days.
Both the journalist and his daughter are undergoing treatment at the All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
The woman, a post-graduate law course student had returned to Bhopal from London last week. She had tested positive for coronavirus on March 20. Her mother, brother and those working at their home have tested negative.
