CM Siddaramaiah trailing, Congress-BJP chasing each other in closely fought Karnataka poll battle

The Hush Post: The Congress party began the day on a bright note today with encouraging results coming in for Congress party president Rahul Gandhi in Karnataka. With Congress taking a lead on 55 seats as of 8.40 am, BJP is leading in 47 seats.

Former prime minister HD Deve Gowda’s JD(S) is also making a mark with leads in 23 seats. With prospect of a close election result and a hung assembly, it will definitely turn him a kingmaker.

CM Siddaramaiah is trailing in Chamundeshwari. He is contesting from two constituencies, Chamundeshwari and Badami. From Badami constituency he is ahead.
Poll pundits have called it a wave-less election in Karnataka. It is to be seen whether the anti-incumbency factor works in Karnataka, advantage BJP. Both the Congress and the BJP have claimed that they will win the election and form the government in the state on their own.
