Reports say BS Yeddyurappa may resign before trust vote

The Hush Post: With just about half an hour left for the trust vote, nataka (the political drama) in Karnataka is nearing its conclusion. A CNN News18 report quoting sources said that Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa may resign before the trust vote implying the BJP has been unable to garner the magic number to win the floor test.

One of the missing Congress MLAs has reached the assembly. Congress leader DK Shivakumar reportedly said that Pratap Gowda Patil will take oath as an MLA and vote for Congress. He will not betray the party, Shivakumar added.

Congress MLAs Anand Singh and Pratap Gowda Patil allegedly kept captive in Gold Finch Hotel in Bengaluru. Additional Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh along with his team leaving for the Hotel, CNN News18 reported.

G Somashekar Reddy, BJP MLA also not present in the house, reported CNN News18. He is the elder brother of mining scam-tainted G Janardhan Reddy.

Anand Singh and Pratap Gouda Patil—two Congress MLAs are not yet in the house to take the oath. Congress’ Veerappa Moily said whenever two ‘missing’ MLAs come they will surely support the Congress.

“We wanted a practical solution so we asked for live telecast of voting. So when proceedings are transparent then it does not matter who is pro tem speaker. No other agenda should be taken up by the pro tem speaker. We did not push for anything else more than transparency. Ab jo jeetagea wohi sikander hoga,” Kapil Sibal said while addressing at a press conference in New Delhi.

BJP MLA B Sriramulu and Karnataka CM BS Yeddyurappa who took oath in the house today have resigned from their respective Lok Sabha seats and the same have been accepted by the Speaker, a news agency reported.
