Davinder Pal Singh Bhullar, the Khalistani militant, was released from Amritsar Central Jail on Saturday. He has been released on Parole for a period of six weeks.
Bhullar is serving a life sentence for his role in the 1993 Delhi blast that killed nine people and injured many others. He was among 529 prisoners who have been released from jail in an attempt to decongest Indian prisons in view on the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
The global pandemic has infected over more than 10,00,000 people with death toll of more than 50,000.
In India, the pandemic has claimed 62 people. The total number of infected cases are 2,650.
Punjab has 57 reported infections with five deaths.
