Yes, you got me right… we are at KTM and today we are going to review the KTM RC 390 ABS. KTM offers two models in their RC category, the RC 200 and The RC 390.
KTM RC 390 sports a 373.2 cc single cylinder, 4 stroke liquid cooled, power-plant that produces 43 PS of power @ 9000 rpm and 37 Nm of torque @ 7000 rpm. It’s mated to a 6 speed gear box.
It comes with powerful twin projector headlamps which gels perfectly in the sports look of the KTM RC 390 and make riding at night a pleasant experience. The digital LCD display provides the rider with plethora of information. It displays the digital Speedo meter, digital tripmeter, digital odometer, engaged gear, fuel gauge, service reminder and information RPM alert to indicate the optimum moment for up-shifting.
The bike gets aluminum triple clamps with the clip on handlebars which adds to its sporty looks, Fuel tank of RC 390 is sleek and can store 10 liter of petrol which include 1.5 liter reserve capacity. The fuel tank is specifically designed keeping in mind its supersport ergonomics of the motorbike.
KTM RC390 comes with 17 inch orange cast alloy wheels with a 110 mm width at the front and a 150 mm at the rear. The seat height is 830 mm, the ground clearance is 185 mm which is good for all type of terrains. The dry weight is 147 kgs and the wet weight is 163 kg which gives it fantastic power to weight ration. It can attain a top speed of 179 kmph and can deliver a mileage of around 25 kmpl which is good.
The under belly exhaust has been replaced with the conventional side-mounted one which gives it an amazing sound, better ground clearance and most importantly, it helps in achieving stricter emissions laws. This three-chamber exhaust is positioned close to the bike’s center of gravity which makes it easy for the rider to balance, to maneuver or to negotiate sharp turns and twists in the city as well as the highways.
The bike comes with a dual channel switchable ABS, with 320 mm Brembo front brake disc brake and 230 mm rear disc brake from Brembo. It also gets a slipper clutch and Ride-By-Wire which means a silky smooth throttle response and plenty of torque. The thin and aerodynamic tail of KTM RC 390 complements the overall supersport like feel of the motorcycle. It doesn’t have many colour choices and just come in one color combination of Black Orange and White.
