First Solar Eclipse of 2019 to occur on Sunday, Won’t be visible in India

The first Solar Eclipse of year 2019 will take place tomorrow, January 6. This will be a partial Solar Eclipse. However, it will not be visible in India. The Moon will come in between the Sun and the Earth on Sunday and the shadow of the Moon will be cast on the Earth.

The first Solar Eclipse of year 2019 will be visible in North-East Asian and North Pacific nations. People in Japan, Korea, Mongolia, Taiwan, Russia, China and North Pacific countries will be able to witness this cosmic event. Around 20 per cent area of China, 30 per cent of Tokyo and 37 per cent area of Vladivostok will be covered by the shadow of the Moon.  The eclipse will take place between 05:04 and 09:18 IST.

WHEN WILL SOLAR ECLIPSE OCCUR IN INDIA

If you want to witness Solar Eclipse in India, you will have to wait till the end of this year. A partial solar eclipse will occur in India on December 26. This eclipse will take place for 2 hours 40 minutes and 6 seconds.  The eclipse will be clearly visible in Kunnur, Kozhikode, Madurai and Thrissur.

LUNAR ECLIPSE ALSO TO OCCUR THIS MONTH

Besides the solar eclipse, many lunar eclipses will also occur this year. A full lunar eclipse will occur on the midnight of January 20 and 21.  But like the solar eclipse, this lunar eclipse won’t be visible in India. Lunar Eclipse in India will occur on 16-17 July.
