Osama’s son Hamza Bin Laden killed: US intelligence

Hamza bin Laden, the son and potential successor of late al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden has been killed. According to a report by US media officials, they will not be able to provide details of when or where he died nor what role the US government played. But, they disclosed that he was killed during the first two years of the Trump administration.

On Wednesday, when President Trump was asked by reporters whether the U.S. had intelligence that Hamza is dead. He said, “I don’t want to comment on that.

According to The New York Times, bin Laden may have been killed before February 2019 when the US State Department announced a $1 million reward for information about his whereabouts before U.S. officials could confirm his death.

Hamza bin Laden’s last known public statement was released by al Qaeda’s media arm in 2018. He is believed to have been born around 1989. His father moved to Afghanistan in 1996 and declared war against the US. As leader of al Qaeda, on September 11, 2001, Osama bin Laden announced the attack on New York’s World Trade Center and on the Pentagon and executed it after which US went full-fledged after him till he was found in a house in Abbottabad.
