In a first after 9/11, there was a grave airspace violation reported from Washignton DC and the White House. Subsequently, the residence of the President of the United States was placed on a lockdown, as per reports. However, there hasn’t been a clarification on how the plane violated the airspace and was it really an attempt at something sinister.

Immediately, fighter jets were scrambled to respond to the violation. At the same time, the US Capitol and its office buildings were evacuated. for some time. The concerns were over a small aircraft in the area. According to the officials the plane violated airspace rules in the restricted area on Tuesday.

The evacuations were ordered as a precaution and lasted about half an hour. The US Secret Service says personnel at the White House were told to remain in place.

Capitol Police sent a notification of a potential threat shortly after 8:30 am. The evacuations were ordered. People were allowed back in after about 30 minutes.

During 9/11 attacks on America, more than 2,700 people were killed and more than 25,000 were injured in a series of organised attack in the morning of September 11.
