The Hush Post: The much-anticipated wedding of 2018 is over. Prince Harry and former American actress Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, got hitched at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
Just after being pronounced as man and wife, Meghan among the two, it seemed, made things easier. According to lip-reader Tina Lannin, when the newlywed couple stopped midway down the west steps of the chapel after the ceremony was over, there was a moment of ‘what do we do?’
Meghan discreetly turned towards Harry and asked: “Do we kiss?” To which Harry shy-smiled and replied: “Yeah.” It was a sight to watch. The two indulged in a physical display of affection throughout the wedding ceremony. After the kiss, the two departed the Chapel for a procession through the Castle and Windsor Town.
Her Majesty The Queen then hosted a Lunch Reception at St George’s Hall in Windsor Castle for about 600 guests who attended the occasion.
It all began two years ago when Prince Harry and Meghan met through a friend and instantly felt a connection. The friendship blossomed into love and the two got engaged in 2017.
Celebrities like George Clooney, Oprah Winfrey, David Beckham were among 600 of those invited alongside senior members of the Royal family.
Another about 2,600 members of the public have been chosen to watch the ceremony from the grounds of Windsor Castle.
The Prince of Wales walked the new Princess down the aisle. Markle did not promise to ‘obey’ her husband, basically an obviation of a traditional Christian oath of subservience to the husband.
After arriving with her mother, Doria Ragland, Markle walked up the Nave of St George’s Chapel – the first part of the church.
She was followed by six bridesmaids and four pageboys including Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
