The “vampire” slit the neck of a Zimbabwe woman with a sharp-edged weapon and started sucking her blood

The Hush Post: In a hard-to-believe incident, a “vampire” was caught drinking the blood of an elderly woman in Zimbabwe after slitting her throat. Not only this, the “vampire” also had a pot full of blood.

The bizarre incident was reported from Zimbabwe and the arrested “vampire” has been identified as a 34-year-old Christopher Sibanda, a report said.

The accused reportedly hit the elderly woman Subusisiwe Sigauke for several times before slitting her neck with a sharp object, a report in Chronicle, a daily newspaper of Zimbabwe said. The incident occurred on June 27 at around 2 pm of Zimbabwe time when the elderly woman was returning from a hospital, the report said.

A villager caught Christopher Sibanda sucking Sigauke’s blood from the wound of her neck and called the cops. A cop, Eglon Nkala, assistant inspector for Matabeleland North, reportedly told the Chronicle that Christopher Sibanda surrendered when the police launched a manhunt for him.

“I can confirm a suspect who allegedly committed a murder at around 2 pm on Wednesday along the main road from Kana Mission Hospital to Sikhewu village. Villagers who had embarked on a manhunt apprehended him and surrendered him to police and he is in custody,” Eglon Nkala was quoted as saying in the report.

A local councillor Edward Marijeni reportedly said this murder has left the area residents in a shock. The councillor said that Christopher Sibanda “sometimes seems to lose his mind”, the report said.

“We have known Sibanda to be a man sometimes seems to lose his mind although he has never been violent. He has allegedly never been on treatment for a mental challenge. Sibanda attacked the elderly woman while she was on her way to her home from the hospital where she had gone to collect some medication,” Marijeni was quoted as saying.

The village people told the newspaper that a passerby had caught Christopher Sibanda red-handed. “He had also collected some blood into a pot suspected to have oozed from the victim’s wound. He was found kneeling next to the body with his bloody mouth on the wound. When people attempted to apprehend him he fled the scene,” a member of the neighbourhood watch committee was quoted in the report.
