The Hush Post: Donald Trump thinks that the well-know television host Oprah Winfrey is ‘insecure’ and considers her a probable 2020 US Prez poll rival. In a twitter battle with Winfrey, he tweeted twice on Sunday, the last tweet said: “Just watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey, who at one point I knew very well, interview a panel of people on 60 Minutes. The questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect. Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!”
What triggered the tweetstorm is the CBS programme “60 Minutes” talk show in which actress and television host Winfrey, now a contributor to the CBS programme, led a panel of 14 Republican, Democrat and Independent voters from Michigan in a wide ranging discussion about Trump’s first year in office. Winfrey asked the voters what they felt about Trump’s recent comments referring to immigrants from “s—hole countries”. She went on to ask questions about Trump’s fitness for office, his temperament and the sexual misconduct allegations he faces. However, Winfrey did not make any declarative statements against the president in the talk show.
Referring to the issue, one Indian news channel succinctly assessed it as Trump following a familiar pattern: He asserts to have once known a rival or critic “very well,” but once he sees them as an enemy, he threatens to expose them, like he did with Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., and Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J.
Ruling out any intention of running for the Prez polls in an interview, which she has said on many earlier occasions too, Winfrey said, “I am actually humbled by the fact that people think that I could be a leader of the free world, but it’s just not in my spirit. It’s not in my DNA”.
