WATCH VIDEO: Girl falls into Panda enclosure, rescued dramatically

In a shocking incident, an 8-year-old girl fell into an enclosure of Pandas in China. Luckily, the girl was rescued by the zoo staff. The video of the incident, shot by onlookers, has gone viral on social media.

The incident took place in Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in Sichuan province of China.

According to media reports, the girl had climbed up onto the wall to get a better view before she accidently fell in. No sooner did she get up, she found herself in front of three pandas. The curious pandas wandered over to the side of the enclosure where the girl fell in, pausing a short distance away.

Panicked, the park visitors started shouting as the bears approached the girl. A security guard tried to assist the girl in coming out with the help of a bamboo pole. The girl, however, was unable to lift herself up even as the pandas moved towards her.

The guard the lunged down from the top of the 2m-high wall and reached for the girl His legs were held by others in the process and he got hold of the girl’s hand, finally lifting her to safety.

Identified as Liu Guihua, the guard has been widely praised for his action.

After the incident, Zoo authorities warned the public that “although giant pandas look cute, they can be very aggressive”.
