The Hush Post: When she was 13, she went missing. Now, at an age of 28 years, she was rescued from the captivity of a shaman who had held her sex slave for 15 long years.

For these 15 years, the shaman had held her captive in a cave near his house. The shaman had allegedly kept her there for these 15 years raping her on the pretext of rescuing her from a spirit saying that she had been possessed by that spirit. The shaman had succeeded in convincing her that he was possessed by a spirit. The incident was reported from Indonesia, a report said.

The woman’s parents had taken her to a shaman near their home in rural Indonesia for treatment and left her with him, but she did not return. The shaman told her parents that she had gone to the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, to hunt for a job. Her parents never heard from her again, the report said.

Earlier this week, the victim who has turned 28-year-old now was spotted in a cave near shaman’s house. The authorities call the victim only “H”.

The woman was rescued by the police earlier this week, after getting a tip-off, a report in the Jakarta Post said.

Muhammad Iqbal Alqudusy, the police chief of Central Sulawesi province, said the shaman told H that he was possessed by the spirit of a boy named Amrin, Reuters reported. He showed her a photo of Amrin and brainwashed her into believing that he was her boyfriend. “She was led to believe that Amrin’s spirit had entered [the elderly man’s] body,” the police chief said at a news conference. “It is obvious that he was satisfying his lust.”

“H” would apparently sit hidden in a cave of boulders during the day and stay overnight in a hut close to the shaman’s house.

The Jakarta Post report said that the elderly man also told cops that he had provided H potions to terminate multiple pregnancies over the years. The shaman faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted of coercing a minor into intercourse and may face other charges too.

The cops also may be investigating whether H’s sister knew of her whereabouts all along. The Jakarta Post reported that the sister was married to the witch doctor’s son and may have had a role in the tip-off.

Magdalena Sitorus, who heads Indonesia’s National Commission on Violence Against Women, told the newspaper that her organization has not yet been asked to work on the case. But she warned that H may not have been the only victim.

“Since the perpetrator was well-respected in the village, there is a possibility that there are other victims that have not yet come forward because they are afraid,” Sitorus was quoted as saying.
