“Biryani By Kilo”(BBK) held a press meet on Thursday, April 18, to launch the Ludhiana branch of their dine in outlet in Feroz Gandhi Market. Founders Vishal Jindal and Kaushik Roy view this as a strategic move to expand the brand name in Punjab.
“BBK” continues to be the only restaurant chain that prepares fresh Handi Biryani for each of its order. Moreover, it also serves different varieties like Hyderabadi, Lucknowi and Kolkata style.
The co-founder of company, Vishal Jindal said, “Punjab is a crucial market for us and we are confident that the Ludhiana branch will be well received. Our aim is to have a network of six to eight outlets in Punjab itself”.
The press meet witnessed a variety of food items from their menu being served. Some of them were Murg Hyderabadi Biryani, Kathal Hyderabadi Biryani, Special dum nihari gosht and Paneer Nawabi.
Co-founder Kaushik Roy said, “Biryani has the potential to become the most ordered food category even leaving behind the much loved Pizza.”
“Biryani items and food delivery, both these independent categories have immense scope in terms of expansion. Both Zomato and Swiggy are moving in the direction of over 10 lakh deliveries across the county on a daily basis,” he said.
With a team of over 700 workers, BBK has managed to earn a profit of over Rs 40 crore. It has 18 outlets across Delhi NCR, Mumbai, and Chandigarh. Its goal is to achieve sales of over Rs 100 crore in the next two years.
