Old cooking methods using mud, stone, bamboos displayed at hospitality industry meet

The Institute of Hotel Management of PCTE, Baddowal, organised its 6th International Hospitality & Tourism Conclave & Conference. The aim was to create a network where hospitality professionals share their knowledge and discuss the impact of online apps on the hospitality & tourism industry.

Chef Manjit Singh Gill, corporate executive chef of ITC hotels was the chief guest. Other Known faces from the hospitality industry include Ajay Khanna, Gunjan Goela, Sangeeta Bahuguna and many more .

The students displayed the use of slow cooking methods like cooking in mud vessels, using bamboo sticks. Shorba of sarson ka saag, banspora biryani (cooked using bamboos), broccoli halwa, mutton halwa, were some of the dishes cooked. 

Simran Taneja and Srishti Guglani were awarded as ‘the best hospitality’ students for the year 2019.

Anirban Gupta, Dean IHM, PCTE said the conclave gave students an opportunity to learn under the guidance of professionals.

Dr K.N.S. Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes congratulated the entire IHM team  for successfully executing the 6th IHTCC. He said, “It’s great to gather people from the industry with common interests and background, with the purpose of seeking healthy discussions and getting valuable inputs on the current state of the industry.”
