The Hush Post: Spiritual leader Bhayyuji Maharaj died in Indore under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday after he allegedly shot himself. The Indore Police confirmed that Bhayyu Maharaj, popularly known as Bhayyuji Maharaj, who was in the past a model, has committed suicide. The news about the death of spiritual leader has left his followers and others shell-shocked.

He was rushed to the Bombay Hospital in Indore but succumbed to his injury sustained on his left temple.

According to available reports, Bhayyuji Maharaj shot himself in his left temple with a revolver in his Indore-situated Ashram. He was rushed to the Bombay Hospital in Indore but he succumbed to the fatal injury.

A heavy police force has been deployed at the Bombay Hospital and at the Ashram of the self-styled spiritual leader to prevent his followers from creating any ruckus or untoward incident.

A News18 report said that April 2016, there was a failed attempt on the life of Bhayyuji Maharaj.

Bhayyuji had a strong following in Maharashtra and had announced retirement from public life in April 2016. In April 2018, he was accorded the minister of state status by the Shiv Raj Singh Chouhan government in Madhya Pradesh.

Originally named Udaysinh Deshmukh, Bhayyuji was the founder of institutions like Shri Sadguru Datta Dharmik Evam Parmarthik Trust and Suryodaya Ashram.

Bhayyuji Maharaj had hogged national headlines in August 2011 when Anna Hazare was on indefinite hunger strike demanding the introduction of Lokpal bill. When Hazare was not ready to discuss it with the Union government, late Congress leader and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh had brought Bhayyuji Maharaj to discuss it with Anna Hazare. He had coordinated with the then law minister Salman Khurshid and Delhi Member of Parliament (MP) Sandeep Dikshit and prepared a draft of Lokpal bill, which was acceptable to both the parties, a report said.
