The Congress confirmed its decision on its chief minster for Madhya Pradesh through a tweet conveying best wishes to Kamal Nath. The formal announcement came shortly after Nath reached Bhopal after day-long meetings with party chief Rahul Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi’s tweet showed him holding hands with both candidates in harmony. It was captioned with a quote from the famous author Leo Tolstoy: “The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.”
The same photo appeared on Jyotiraditya Scindia’s timeline with a different caption: “It is not a race, it is not about the kursi (post), we are here to serve the people of Madhya Pradesh.”
However, the race in Rajasthan for chief ministership is still on. The decision is most likely to come today. The parleys went on late into Thursday night.
Ashok Gehlot was called back from the Delhi airport thrice on Thursday. Gandhi met Rajasthan Congress in-charge Sachin Pilot and Gehlot around midnight.
Rajasthan observer KC Venugopal said that there would be a final decision on Rajasthan on Friday morning.
Meanwhile, in Bhopal Madhya Pradesh CM designate Kamal Nath said,”I’ll make absolute efforts to live up to the expectations of the peopl “.
“We will fulfill all the promises mentioned in our manifesto. I’ll be meeting the Governor tomorrow at 10:30 am,” he said.
