‘Khallas girl’ Isha Koppikar joins BJP

Bollywood actress Isha Koppikar on Sunday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. The ‘Khallas girl’ joined the BJP fold in the presence of Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari during a party function in Mumbai.

The BJP has made Isha Koppikar the executive president of the Women’s Transport wing.

Born on September 29, 1979 in Mumbai, Isha Koppikar did her schooling and higher studies from Mumbai. During her college days, Isha started modeling and also appeared in various advertisements.  Isha participated in the 1995 Miss India pageant and won the Miss Talent crown. She married Timmy Narang in 2009.

While in college, Isha took part in photographer Gautam Rajadhyaksha’s photoshoot. From here she started her modeling career and then entered the movies. Her first movie was Tamil language ‘Kadhal Kavithai’ released in 1998. She also won a Filmfare award for the movie.

Isha Koppikar’s firsh hindi movies was ‘Fiza’ which was released in 2000. She has worked for around 45 movies including ‘Company’, ‘Pinjar’ and ‘Girlfriend’. Isha was last seen in the movied ‘Raakh’ in 2011.
