Mumbai police on Friday registered a case against four men for allegedly gangraping a 19-year-old girl on her birthday. The incident took place in Chembur area of Mumbai. The police registered a ‘Zero FIR’ and transferred it to Chunabhatti police station.
According to the reports, the girl was returning home from her friend’s house after celebrating her birthday on July 7. Her family reportedly said that she was then raped by four men but she did not tell anyone about the incidents for weeks and kept crying.
She was taken to a hospital in Aurangabad when her condition got worse. The doctors in the hospital revealed that she was gangraped. After that, the girl informed her family about the incident.
Police inspector Deepak Vijay Surve reportedly said, “We have registered an FIR four unidentified persons under sections 36 (criminal acts by several persons in furtherance of common intention), 376 (rape) and 376 D (gang rape) of IPC.”
Further investigation of the case is underway.
