The Hush Post: Music composer Anu Malik will not be part of the singing reality show, Indian Idol. There were reports that Sony asked him to step down following allegations of sexual misconduct on him.
Anu Malik denied all the reports suggesting Sony ask him to step down as judge of Indian Idol. Instead, he himself wants to take a break from the show since he was unable to focus on work.
After the allegations made by singers Sona Mohapatra, Shweta Pandit and two unnamed women against Anu Malik, there were reports that said Sony had asked the musician to quit the show.
As per a report, Malik in a comment said, “I have issued a statement to the channel ‘I, Anu Malik, have decided to take a break from Indian Idol as I am currently unable to focus on my work on the show.’ The channel has been kind to agree for the same.”
Asked about the reason for his resignation, the music composer said: “They have not asked me to step down. I have taken this stand.”
The Indian Idol show is now down to just seven contestants. Anu Malik Vishal Dadlani and Neka Neha Kakkar are the judges in the show right now. There is also no clarity on who will replace Anu Malik.
