Like the ‘cutting chai’, the famous radio network in India, Radio City, launched the ‘Cutting Paani’ initiative in Mumbai to create awareness about water wastage and its need to save it. The campaign encouraged the restaurants to serve half glass of water to avoid its wastage.
In a two-week long activity, RJ Salil and RJ Archana created mass awareness on-air, on-ground and on digital platforms. Many Bollywood stars such as Salman Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, etc. are supporting the campaign.
As part of the campaign, Radio City played stories of citizens of Mumbai on-air highlighting easy ways to save water. Also, Radio City RJs visited local restaurants, high-end hotels, and corporate offices to educate the people about decreasing supply of water and the need to conserve water. Collaborating with AHAR, the Indian Hotel and Restaurant Association, distributed stickers of ‘Cutting Paani’ certification for restaurants and hotels in Mumbai.
Further, a song and a video titled ‘Cutting Paani’ was created and shared on social media in order to make the campaign a success.
Also, Radio City shared videos of listeners and celebrities pledging their support for the campaign.
