Amritsar rural police booked Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon, producer-director Farah Khan, and comedienne Bharti Singh. The police allegedly booked them for hurting the religious sentiments of a community during a programme on a TV channel. SSP Vikram Jeet Duggal has confirmed the news. The police have registered a case under Section 295-A of the IPC.
He said the police have received the complaint along with the video footage of the programme.
According to a news report, the comedy show of Raveena Tandon, Farah Khan and Bharti Singh aired on the TV channel on Christmas day in which the word Hallelujah was mispronounced in an inappropriate manner and stood in bad taste.
This didn’t go down well with the people. There is a written complaint regarding the issue. Of late the state is taking blasphemy laws across the country very strictly.
