Five-year-old girl administered third degree burns 20 times as punishment by mom, aunt for being mischievous

A five-year-old girl was brutally administered third degree burns 20 times by her mother and paternal aunt just because she was running around the house. The case pertains to Kalamboli police station area near Navi Mumbai, where the accused mother Anita Yadav and her sister Rinki Yadav poured hot wax and burnt the girl using a candle.

The girl’s father Ghanshyam Yadav (23), a vegetable vendor, in police complaint said, “On Wednesday his wife and sister-in-law were watching TV and his five-year-old daughter was running around the house and refusing to sit down. As a punishment girl’s mother and aunt poured hot wax to scare her.”

Yadav also said, “On Wednesday, when I returned home, I found the girl Sakshi crying. I found that her torso, limbs, neck and face had several burn marks.”

A day later, the police arrested the accused women.

The Kalamboli police has lodged an FIR. They have booked the duo under the Juvenile Justice Act. On the other hand, the aunt claimed that they did not want to hurt the child but wanted to only scare her.

Police said, “The girl’s medical examination has been done and no serious injury was found, she is in considerable pain.”
