Veteran actress Soni Razdan, also the mother of Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, says that the #MeToo movement is a positive change against sexual harassment. There are many big names which have surfaced as a result of #MeToo. Soni Razdan disclosed she too is a victim of sexual harassment. Although, she did not reveal the name of the person. But she said that “somebody tried to rape her.”

Soni Razdan said that the incident happened during a film shoot. She termed herself lucky for not facing sexual harassment when she approached someone for work. When she was shooting for a film, she claimed somebody tried to rape her.” Luckily they did not succeed.”

As per the reports, the actress remained silent since she did not want the person’s family going through the trauma of knowing his actions. She said that the only reason why she was silent was that she felt “I would be hurting his family, whom I knew.” However, she added if the same would have happened now, she would not have done the same thing. “I would not have been generous, I would have complained about it.”

Soni is among the many Bollywood celebrities who have supported the #MeToo movement. Speaking about the same at an event in the past, when she was asked, why sexual harassment happens at workplace, she said: “When someone is humiliating and harassing a woman, he definitely knows that the victim is needy and is left with no option but to tolerate such harassment to save her job. It is about livelihood.”
