The Hush Post: David Coleman Headley, an American terrorist of Pakistani origin is fighting for his life in ICU. According to the report by an Indian news channel on Monday, he was attacked by two of his prison mates. He was attacked on July 8 because he was a “Double agent”. He has worked with Pakistani and Islamist terror organisations, reportedly.
Public prosecutor, Ujjawal Nikkam who was in 26/11 said, “We have not received any information on any such attack on Headley.”
He is under 24X7 observation in critical care unit at North Evanston Hospital due to the nature of his injuries. Reportedly, both the attackers were brothers who were imprisoned for attacking policemen several years ago.
Headley has been jailed for 35 years and is serving his sentence at the Metropolitan Correctional Centre, Chicago in connection with the Mumbai terror attacks case. He pleaded guilty before the US court to lower his life sentence. After his cooperation with the investigation by the Indian authorities, the Mumbai court in December 2015 found him guilty of the similar charges as in US and bound him to become the witness in 26/11 case.
His original name is Daood Sayed Gilani. Headley was born in Washington, DC. His father was a Pakistani diplomat. Headley was involved in drug trafficking and was caught by the US Drug Enforcement Administration. Later, he started working as an informer for the agency.
