The Hush Post: In a brazen act of shamelessness of stalking, outraging the modesty of a woman and molestation, a 33-year-old man pulled down the pants of a 40-year-old woman in Mumbai. The man has been arrested. The incident occurred on New Link Road, in Kandivli (West).
According to the police, the complainant went out of her house in Borivli (West) for a stroll towards Malad around 10 pm. The accused, Ramraj Pawar, who was on a scooter, started staring at her.
According to a news report, Pawar then got off the two-wheeler, parked it, and started following the woman. He then sneaked up behind her and pulled her pants. Then, within a moment he appeared in front of her and began touching her inappropriately.
People on the road rushed to help her on hearing her cries for help. The accused even assaulted the people who came to help her and managed to flee. A passer-by called up the police control room, leading to his arrest. The police confirmed that Pawar was not in an inebriated condition when the incident took place.
An FIR has been registered against him under Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code.
A similar incident had happened at a shopping mall in Ludhiana last year. Many such incidents happen with women across the country, many of which go unreported.
