The Hush Post: Former Dainik Bhaskar journalist Saloni Arora, who allegedly blackmailed former Dainik Bhaskar National Group Editor Kalpesh Yagnik and abetted him to commit suicide has been arrested.
She was arrested by Mumbai Police on Saturday evening. The cops went in plain clothes and followed Saloni’s school-going son. The moment she came out to meet him, she was rounded-up by the police.
Reportedly, according to DIG Harinarayanchari Mishra, the police was trying to track Saloni for the past about 15 days. They tracked all the telephone calls made to her brother, sister, brother-in-law, maternal uncle. A few days ago, a call was traced to her maternal uncle in Delhi from where it was found out that Saloni was hiding somewhere in Meerut. A day before police reached Delhi, Saloni had already left for Mumbai. In Mumbai, her son was taking coaching classes at a well-reputed coaching centre in Andheri.
The cops stood outside the coaching centre and kept tracking her son. The moment she came forward to meet him, she was detained. It has now come to light that through the call records the police was able to decipher that Saloni would meet her son on Saturday. He was on his way to Panwel when Saloni was arrested. She will be brought to Indore on Sunday.
Earlier, it was on the complaint of Kalpesh Yagnik’s brother Neeraj Yagnik that Saloni was booked by Indore police.
Yagnik allegedly committed suicide in July after he was being blackmailed by Saloni incessantly and was allegedly demanding Rs five crore or a job at Dainik Bhaskar, else she would leak out a controversial audio of Kalpesh and her’s.
