Actor Shahid Kapoor has become a chain-smoker but the reason is far from personal. Shahid Kapoor’s fans are quite excited for his upcoming movie Kabir Singh. The trailer has been released recently and Shahid is looking like a boozing, cocaine-snorting and swearing angry doctor. All thanks to his hard work for the character he plays in the Telugu remake.
However, for the role, Shahid had to smoke 20 cigarettes a day and after that he had to bathe for two hours to get rid of the smell before returning to his kids. In an interview the ‘Udta Punjab’ actor revealed that the role needed him to smoke cigarettes, beedis, and pretend to snort cocaine which was tough to do.
“I don’t endorse smoking at all. However, the role required it, as the protagonist uses it to channel his anger and rage. It was not easy and it came to a point where I smoked almost 20 cigarettes a day. It would take me close to two hours to shower and get rid of the smell before I could return home to my children,” he said.
Film Kabir Singh is a remake of Telugu original ‘Arjun Reddy’. It depicts the character of a brilliant but flawed medical student Kabir Singh who takes drugs and alcohol after he is separated from his girlfriend.
