Even as Deepika Padukone and other lesser known celebrities came out in solidarity against the violence unleashed on Jawahar Lal Nehru students, an old video has emerged which stars Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh Bachchan and others saying what they should have said now. However, Twitterati accused them of being hypocrites and being silent.

The video has Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar, Abhishek Bachchan, Tabu and many others proudly saying ‘Main Hindustani.’ Disappointed with these celebs for their mute response on JNU, CAA and other issues, Twitterati has demanded a newer version featuring those who actually raised their voice.
The violence at JNU on Sunday night sparked outrage across the nation. Hundreds of people from different parts of the country hit the streets. They were protesting against the brutal attack.
People once again looked up to famous personalities- Bollywood biggies such as Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, as well as sports stars Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar- to raise voices against violence.
However, much to people’s disappointment, save a few Bollywood celebs such as Swara Bhasker, Riteish Deshmukh, Rajkummar Rao and others, others chose to maintain silence.
Time and again, these famous celebrities have come under fire for not speaking when it counts. Not just JNU, even during protests against CAA, #ShameOnBollywood was trending, for the B-town celebs’ mute response.
Now, an old video starring various famous personalities such as Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar, Abhishek Bachchan, Tabu and many others proudly saying ‘Main Hindustani’ has gone viral on Twitter. It didn’t go unnoticed that those who featured in the video are actually the ones who are silent now.
