The parcel contained the Wanowrie-based businesswoman’s driving licence, which was stolen from her car on March 17 along with other valuables.
The thief, not identified yet, kept with him Rs 1,500 and the branded purse. Dey said she was grateful for the “honesty” of the thief who gave her licence back and saved her a lot of time. “I am so happy because I got my driving licence back,” was Dey’s reaction as per a report in a national daily.

Dey normally closed her boutique on MG Road and go to the Race Course for evening walk. “I used to go there on my scooter, but, recently my younger son gifted me a sports utility vehicle (SUV). So I began to use it instead,” Dey said.

On March 17, Dey shut her business premises and went to the Race Course, where she parked her car. “I had kept my purse on the back seat. Normally, I do not take my cellphone with me on the walk, but that day I took it with me as I wanted to talk to my husband and son,” Dey said.

About half-an-hour later, Dey returned and was shocked finding the rear window of the car broken and her purse missing. “Luck was on my side, because I had kept my iPad on the back seat next to my purse. But, the thief did not notice it since it camouflaged with the seat.”

Eversince that day, Dey said, she had been requesting her son to help her get a driving licence. “I do not know how to apply online and needed my son’s help.”

However, on Thursday, Dey’s got a parcel. “When I opened it, I found my licence in it,” Dey said.
