A man in Rajasthan allegedly killed his son for constantly objecting to his liquor addiction. The incident took place in Pushkar town of Rajasthan’s Ajmer district.
According to Ajmer police, 50-year-old Nainaram was addicted to liquor. 21-year-old victim Chainram used to oppose his father Nainaram’s habit of regularly consuming liquor.
On Tuesday night, Nainaram and Chainram entered into a heated argument over the issue. The argument soon turned violent and Nainaram hit Chainram with an iron rod. Chainram died on the spot.
Relatives carried out Chainram’s funeral early Wednesday. Police rushed to the spot on Thursday after learning about the murder and funeral. However, Nainaram had managed to escape by then.
The police subsequently brought some of the relatives who were attending the funeral to the police station. It released them later.
SHO of Pushkar police station Rajesh Meena said, “We are investigating the matter. Apart from the murder case, those who were involved in destroying the evidence will also be arrested.”
