The Hush Post, Jagraon: A total of 85 bags of poppy husk which had a consignment of 75 kgs of poppy husk were recovered today by Jagraon police. After getting the information, a barricade was laid and the driver of the tractor carrying the consignment was stopped.  The accused tried to flea but were nabbed. Two of the accused arrested have been identified as Harmail Singh of village Hathoor and Paramjit Singh resident of Sidhwan College. A case has been registered under sections 15, 25, 61, 85 NDPS Act at Police Station Sadar Jagraon against four accused including Harmail and Paramjit.

While addressing a press conference at office of Senior Superintendent of Police Ludhiana (R), Arpit Shukla, and Gursharan Singh Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ludhiana Range, Ludhiana said that in the campaign regarding drive against drugs a naka was formed to check the suspicious persons and vehicles at Bridge Canal in the area of Village Sherpur Kalan alongwith ASI Sayd Shakil, Incharge PP Galib Kalan ASI Sharanjit Singh, and other police personals as a result of which the consignment was recovered.
